Clubhouse, a social audio platform, is making progress with its plan for content creators in India to earn through the platform. It will begin by inviting a few Indian content creators to the platform and helping them promote their shows.
In a Wednesday statement that content creators will be offered financial support through matching them with brands or by a monthly stipend.
This program will allow creators to create services for creative assets, promote inside and outside Clubhouse and build an audience.
Clubhouse invites creators to apply for monetization. The company will then review all applications on a rolling basis.
The California-based company introduced the Android version of the app last month for a chunk of the non-iOS market. The app has been downloaded over five million times on Google Play.
Another social audio app Twitter Spaces is also attempting a similar move with its ‘ticketed spaces’ feature, which will allow hosts to schedule discussions and have people pay for access.
Unlike Clubhouse, Twitter does not have any plans for monetization through promoted spaces for brands or advertisers at the moment, the company had said.
